Comments on the possible health risks of nanotechnology. Similarity of the structure on nanotubes and asbestos which suggests there is a possibility of similar invasion of the body with similar results; Nanoparticles which may be inhaled and act as air-pollutants do causing respiratory and cardiac diseases; How what makes nanoparticles a good delivery system might also increase their toxicity; Current risks to people and the environment which are slim but suggesting that there might be early warnings in the similarities to known illness factors as listed previously; Call for safety measures for workers in the field; Suggestion that research on the health effects of nanotechnology be conducted as the new technologies develop.
