Handing Over the Decision on Concurrent Assignment of the Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health

On the afternoon of August 28, 2026, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour organized a ceremony to announce and hand over the Decision on the concurrent assignment of the Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health to Comrade Vu Anh Duc, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.

The ceremony was attended by Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuấn, Member of the 14th Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Thai Thu Xuong and Nguyen Xuan Hung; representatives of the leaders of the departments, the Party Committee, and the Trade Union of the Confederation’s headquarters, along with all leaders, officials, public employees, and workers of the Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.

At the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan handed over Decision No. 357/QD-TLD dated August 28, 2026, issued by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour regarding the concurrent assignment of Comrade Vu Anh Duc as the Director of the Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, effective from September 1, 2026, until the position of Director is officially consolidated.

Speaking to assign tasks, Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized the important role of the Institute in scientific research on occupational safety and health. At the same time, he requested the Institute to continue reviewing and consolidating its organizational structure, perfecting operational regulations, promoting staff capacity, and expanding into new development directions.

He requested Comrade Vu Anh Duc and the Institute’s leadership team to focus on several key tasks: perfecting the mechanisms for organization, operation, and financial management; researching development orientations for scientific research functions; studying the expansion into the fields of occupational health and occupational diseases, and enhancing the practical transfer of research results; reviewing and utilizing facilities for training; and continuing to consolidate the leadership team and staff of the Institute and its subordinate units.

Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed his confidence that Comrade Vu Anh Duc, with his professional and work experience, will join the Institute’s collective to stabilize the organization, improve operational efficiency, and promote the role and position of the Institute in the field of occupational safety and health. He also called on the collective of leaders, officials, public employees, and workers to remain unified, supportive, and collaborative with the Director during the execution of tasks.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Vu Anh Duc expressed his sincere gratitude for the trust of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the leadership of the General Confederation. He also acknowledged the contributions of generations of officials, public employees, and workers who built the tradition and foundation for the Institute’s development.

He affirmed that in the context of rapid changes in science, technology, and the labor market, occupational safety and health work faces new requirements. The Institute needs to continue innovating, staying close to production realities and workers’ needs, and focusing on major, urgent research issues. It must also promote the application and transfer of research results, build a highly competent team of scientific staff, and strengthen coordination with management agencies, research institutes, universities, businesses, and trade union organizations.

Comrade Vu Anh Duc expressed his desire for the Institute’s collective to continue promoting solidarity, taking proactive initiatives, coordinating closely, implementing proper delegation and decentralization, and working together to overcome difficulties and complete assigned tasks.

The assignment of the concurrent Director is an important step in consolidating leadership, creating conditions for the Institute to continue stabilizing its organization, innovating scientific research activities, and promoting the application and transfer of research results, thereby contributing to improving the efficiency of occupational safety and health and protecting workers’ health.
