International cooperation activities of VNNIOSH in the first 6 months of 2024
In order to strengthen and expand international cooperation in OSH field, in the first 6 months of 2024, the Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (VNNIOSH) received some international delegations to visit and seek cooperation opportunities and also actively implemented international cooperation activities as planned.
Receiving the Employment and Labor Attaché, Embassy of the Republic of Korea
In March 2024, at VNNIOSH’s headquarters, a meeting and working session took place with Ms. Kim Yoon Hye, Employment and Labor Attaché, Embassy of the Republic of Korea. At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tho, General Director of VNNIOSH introduced the formation and development process of the Institute; the effective cooperation activities between VNNIOSH and Korean partners in recent times; expressed the hope that VNNIOSH would support Korean businesses operating in Vietnam in safety, health care and ensuring working environment for workers. Ms. Kim Yoon Hye said that the Korean Embassy is ready to act as a bridge between VNNIOSH and Korean businesses and Korea Chamber of Business in Vietnam, hoping that the Institute will provide support and advice to help Korean businesses and investors in Vietnam correctly understand, strictly and fully comply with the OSH Law of Vietnam, thereby promoting cooperation and developing good relations between people and businesses, agencies of the two countries.

Online meeting to discuss cooperation activities in 2024 between VNNIOSH and KOSHA
Within the framework of the technical arrangement in the field of OSH for the period 2022-2025, in April 2024, VNNIOSH and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) organized discussions in order to grasp the actual situation and needs of each side regarding joint research, invitational training and technical consulting in 2024.
The two sides agreed that in 2024, VNNIOSH will send 02 delegations to take part in a joint research program on quality management, occupational environment measurement and program on invitational training in order to share experiences on building safety testing laboratories, digital transformation and e-learning at KOSHA’s institutes in Korea. And also KOSHA experts will provide consulting and technical support at the VNNIOSH’s laboratories in Vietnam, thereby enhancing scientific research activities, improving professional qualifications of staff effectively and in-depth.

Maintaining cooperative relationships with organizations in the field of occupational safety and health in the Asia-Pacific region is always highly valued and appreciated by the Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. At the end of April 2024, the Institute had a reception and working session with the delegation of the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Association (JISHA) led by Mr. Toru Takegoshi, President, on the occasion of the business trip to Vietnam. The cooperative relationship between JISHA and VNNIOSH has gone through many periods of cooperation, training activities, sharing experiences, and conferences that have brought practical results. The two sides hope that in the future there will be opportunities to cooperate in order to contribute to raising awareness on safety and health care for workers.
