Survey of workplace ergonomics, recommendations for improvement in some Mechanical enterprises

ABSTRACT
Survey of workplace Ergonomics and recommendations for improvement in some mechanical enterprises.
In order to recommend solutions to improve working conditions in some mechanical enterprises, a research was carried out at some mechanical enterprises.
The resutlts showed that: working posture of workers was awkward, 22.8% of working postures were squat. Materials and tool were not well arranged, only 14.8% work place had stillage. Many working positions were not safe, 47,9% gears were not guarded. Only a few of workers used personal protective equipment when working. Almost workers were not trained on occupational and health safety.
The authors recommended that awareness on occupational safety and health at workplaces should be improved; workers should be provided with personal protective equipments with good quality; measures for improvement of working conditions should be implemented.
