Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health holds working session with the Lao Federation of Trade Unions
On the afternoon of August 27, 2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (VNNIOSH), a meeting was held between the Institute and the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU).

Attending the meeting, on the VNNIOSH side were Mr. Vu Xuan Trung, Deputy Director General and the leaders of the units under the institute; on the LFTU side were Mrs. Chanpenh Maniseng, Head of the Labor Protection Department, head of the delegation and other members of the delegation; and official from the Trade Union Affairs Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Vu Xuan Trung expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from the LFTU to visit, work, and exchange experiences. Providing an overview of VNNIOSH, he highlighted the Institute’s development from 1971 to the present, its achievments in scientific and technological research activities in the field of occupational safety and health and environmental protection, the position and role of VNNIOSH within the Vietnamese Trade Union system, and its contributions to the Vietnamese Trade Union’s efforts in caring for and protecting the safety and health of workers.

During the meeting, both sides focused on exchanging and sharing experiences on issues related to periodic health check-ups, occupational disease screening, and occupational safety training activities for workers and trade union members in the current situation of each country.
As part of the program, the delegation from the LFTU also visited some laboratories at the National Working Environment Monitoring Station in Hanoi; both sides shared common concerns regarding occupational environment and monitoring workplace hazards and risks.
The meeting took place in an open and sincere atmosphere, providing a valuable opportunity for the Vietnam National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (VNNIOSH) and the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU) to share practical experiences, thereby strengthening and further fostering the comprehensive solidarity and cooperation between the trade union organizations of Vietnam and Laos.
