ABSTRACT
This report presents some initial results of the national level project implementation “Study the real situation of electromagnetic field distribution around high-voltage transmission lines with the voltage level of 220 kV or higher, and around radio and TV broadcasting stations with the range between 100 kHz to 1 GHz and evaluate the effect of these fields on community health”.
Initial study results show that the electric field strength measured from 1 meter to 100 meters under lines (220 kV) is varied between 0.05 kV/m and 25 kV/m; and the magnetic field strength is from 3 to 18 µT (measured under the 500kV lines). Results which are measured in residential areas around transmission lines: yard area: 0.7 – 3.0 kV/m; in the houses that 10-30 meters far from lines: ≤ 0.5 kV/m (reach the required standard). The magnetic field strengths in and out door are approximately equal: 0.8 – 2.4 µT. Study results from 220 kV and 110 kV lines show that the electric field strength measured from 1 to 30 meters under
