On August 13, 2014, at the National Institute of Labour Protection (NILP), the NILP Scientific Council held a conference to assess and approve the draft scientific and technological projects for 2015 implemented by the cadres of the Centre for Occupational Health.

The conference was chaired by DSc. Pham Quoc Quan, NILP Deputy Director and Chairman of the NILP Scientific Council, and was attended by the experts, scientists and researchers of the Institute.

At the conference, directors of the projects presented the outlines of the following projects:

  1. Research and develop an analysis process of cadmium concentration in blood and urine, using the atomic absorption spectroscopy (GF – AAS), directed by MA. Nguyen Thi Hien.
  2. Develop an analysis process of chromium concentration in blood and urine, using the atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), directed by BA. Tong Thi Ngan.
  3. Develop an analysis process of carbaryl content and 1-Naphthol in urine, using the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
  4. Develop an analysis process of zinc concentration in blood, using the atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), directed by PhD. Pham Hong Luu.
  5. Develop an analysis process of arsenic concentrations in blood and urine, using the atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), directed by Dr. Nguyen Thi Hue.

The representatives of the research teams answered the questions of the Council’s members and the participants.

Commenting on the draft projects, the Council’s members affirmed that all projects had high scientific and practical significance and directly served the research of the Centre and the Institute. They basically agreed with the outlines of the projects and suggested some additional contents to make the project clearer and more complete.

Based on the suggestions of the Council’s members, DSc. Pham Quoc Quan, on behalf of the Council, concluded the contents which needed adjustment and supplementation, and asked the directors of the projects to take the opinions of the experts and scientists to supplement the projects’ contents.

After a day of working promptly and seriously with a high sense of responsibility, the Council agreed to approve these five projects and asked the Institute to put them into the 2015 scientific research plan.
