A research on dental erosion is conducted in 271 workers exposed to acid elements at Viet Tri Chemical Joint Stock Company in Phu Tho Province. It uses a method of cross-sectional, comparative study, collection of data by measuring the working environment, interview and clinical examination. The results show that the average dental erosion index in the study group (0.71) is higher than that of the comparative group (0.25) and the index increases with working years. Such factors as alcohol, sour fruit, heartburn and diseases around the teeth increase the average dental erosion index. It is concluded that the occupational exposure to acid elements can increase the risk of dental erosion damage.
